Explore Our Programs →Alexander Healthcare Professions Academy is an independent online healthcare training academy focused on practical education in medical coding, revenue cycle management, and career development. Our approach combines instruction with realistic professional scenarios and hands-on learning.
Our two primary training pathways are Medical Coding Foundations to CPC Exam Preparation and Revenue Cycle Management and CRCR Preparation. Additional specialized courses are planned as the academy expands.
The programs are designed to introduce foundational concepts before moving into more challenging professional scenarios. Prior healthcare experience may be helpful, but beginners can start with the introductory lessons and build their knowledge progressively.
Yes. The academy uses an online learning environment with digital lessons, instructor recordings, practical exercises, and interactive learning activities. Students should have reliable internet access and a suitable device.
Hands-on learning is a central part of the academy. Depending on the program and lesson, activities include coding investigations, clinical documentation review, claims analysis, denial scenarios, calculations, and professional decision-making exercises.
The academy's repeatable practice labs are designed to let students revisit exercises and strengthen their understanding. Individual assessments may have separate instructions, which will be displayed in the course.
The Medical Coding program is designed to build knowledge relevant to the AAPC Certified Professional Coder examination, including terminology, anatomy, ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, documentation analysis, and examination-style reasoning. Students should also review AAPC's current examination requirements and recommended resources.
No. Completing an academy course does not automatically award the CPC or CRCR credential. CPC certification is administered by AAPC, while CRCR certification is administered by HFMA. Their examination, eligibility, and credentialing requirements are separate from academy enrollment.
Medical Coding focuses on interpreting clinical documentation and assigning accurate diagnosis and procedure codes. Revenue Cycle Management focuses on healthcare financial workflows, including registration, insurance verification, claims, reimbursement, denials, collections, and follow-up. The two fields work closely together but involve different responsibilities.
Students completing advanced coding exercises and CPC preparation should have access to appropriate current-year coding references, including ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II resources. Specific reference expectations should be reviewed on the Medical Coding program page.
The learning environment is designed around flexible online study. Students can work through available lessons and return to practice activities. Any program-specific access periods or schedules should be reviewed before purchase.
Visit the Programs section to compare the training pathways. Each program's enrollment page will provide its course details, pricing, and checkout information when enrollment is available.
Course content may be expanded or updated as the academy develops. The applicable enrollment page should identify the content currently available, any planned additions, and the access terms associated with the purchase.
No. The academy provides educational training and career preparation resources, but does not guarantee employment, certification, examination results, or a particular salary.
